Heuer Logistics - exporting to North America

On 21st November 2008, we were handling cargo on behalf of UTC Overseas Bremen. The transport to Oakland/USA contained of two boxes each weighing in at 11 tons. This shows that we are able to handle almost everything - using own equipment - as long as we it fits under bridges. (November 2008)
Heuer Logistics - not just bananas e

Besides our weekly handling of bananas and other fruits, we discharged various commodities via our quays. In April 2008 we handled a complete saw mill. Our two reachstackers also managed to accommodate a very heavy turbine with a length of 25 m and a weight of 60 tons.
From May to June we moved more than 5.000 tons of milk powder packed in bags of 25 kg. The consignment came in from different European countries and had been loaded onto three vessels which sailed for Algeria.
One month later we heaved 7 straddle carrier ashore. This discarded equipment worked in former times on the container terminal in Bremerhaven, and was subsequently disassembled and scraped. (August 2008)
Storm flood approaching

was the news of the day on 9 November, and the impacts were noticeable along the entire coastline. It was “water galore” in Bremerhaven as well, and our Columbus Quay got wet feet, so to speak. The flood control barriers were raised in time, so everything turned out well in the end. The pictures were impressive, though.

Werder Bremen was a size too big for us

A somewhat different kind of company party was celebrated by HEUER Group staff in July 2007. As “vitamin sponsor” for Werder Bremen’s first-division football team, we had an opportunity to play a friendly match against the club’s office team. In splendid sunshine and with support from enthusiastic fans, we went into the match full of verve and spirit. After an exciting battle, we had to accept a narrow defeat (1:9) “due to some dubious decisions by the referee”. In addition to the sporting activity itself, we also had a tour of the Weser Stadium, before ending the day with a convivial round of dining and celebrating. All in all, it was a fantastic day full of thrills and spills.

A heavy burden...

had to be borne in July by two mobile cranes in Bremerhaven. Two cable tanks containing a total of 129 kilometres of submarine cable were loaded by HEUER from the pier onto the MS Levante. The total weight was 200 metric tons. The freight was destined for Chile, where it will enter service on the ocean floor. A strong performance!
